Swarthna Prasad is the founder of SP Legal Limited. She graduated with a conjoint degree in 2011 with Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Bachelor of Science (BSc) from the University of Waikato.
She has over a decade of experience as a property, conveyancing, and private client lawyer. Her legal career has been diverse — including time spent as a government lawyer as well as a junior barrister. These roles have given her a strong understanding of the law from multiple perspectives and how it impacts people in their everyday lives.
Swarthna established SP Legal to create a practice that reflects her values — flexibility, genuine care for clients, and delivering practical, tailored legal solutions.
Outside the office, Swarthna leads a busy family life. With four children including 18 month old year old twins, balancing work and family has given her a deep appreciation for patience, flexibility, and practical problem-solving — qualities that flow naturally into her legal practice. When time allows, her family enjoys long walks, hiking, fishing, and the occasional camping trip together.
